 Update on the Catholic liberal/conervative  thing. Hot question now "Is Scott Hahn a Catholic Fundamentalist?"  I follwed his story from his conversion from Fundamentlist Protestant anti-Catholic Minister to popular Catholic scholar.  He did say "All Prots go to hell."  So is he a fundamentalist or just a real good Catholic?  I do not know.

 I feel no great need to tell the world what I do or do not believe about spiritualty. If you do, go for it.

What a choice!

OK, There's this Christian Fundamentalist on one side, telling me I'd better get saved or I'll go to hell.

Over on the other side there's a brilliant and highly educated guy who says "I'm too smart and woke to fall for all that Bible Christian bullshit."

If I must choose one to follow I'll go with the fellow on the right. He appears to have some concern for my eternal soul, if I have one.  The other guy wants to impress me with how smart he is and how dumb I am.

Bishop John Shelby Spong has died.  Fascinating colorful and controversial figure. Loved or scorned depending on whether you were on the Left or Right church aisle.

FAR RIGHT FAR LEFT CATHOLICS?

 Does the Catholic Church have conservatives and liberals, Fundamentalists and Progressives?  Sure. They don't use those Protestant terms but they've got 'em.

WWJD all over again.

I am amazed at the numbers of Facebook theologians who know exactly what Jesus would do about any given contemporary situation .  The Left is convinced that  His first order of business will be the closing of  the churches because organized religion is bad and Christianity is the worst. On the Right, they believe Jesus would call us back to church to hear the gospel and get saved.  In the middle  or wherever they are,  there's the Progressives.  They welcome you to the group no matter what you believe. Or if you don't believe anything. They like to talk about the the things they don't believe.
